“The rich and poor have this in common:
The Lord made them both.” ~Proverbs 22:2
Class division does not exist. Not in God’s eyes. It’s a man made structure that has divided people–the rich and the poor–from one another. This caused the rich to think that they’re better than the poor, and caused the poor to covet the rich. It created even more ugly sin from the human heart that became manifested on the outside (pride, envy, superiority, materialism).
We become so distracted by these class differences that we forget the most important aspect, the one thing that brings us together as one: GOD CREATED US ALL (look at verses Job 34:19, Romans 10:12, Galatians 3:28, and Colossians 3:11). God did not create one man to be better than the other, the world did. We are ALL sinners. We have all fallen short of God’s standard (Romans 3:23). And no matter how dandy, flashy, or pricey your outfit is or how old and ragged your shoes may be; it doesn’t matter how much money you make or even if you have no money, God will only be pleased with a believing heart and a willing soul. He will reject the outer shell and look directly at your heart and accept you when you call on Him to save you (1 Samuel 16:7, Romans 5:9).
While this ugly class division is causing both the rich and poor to become inflated with materialism and financial gain, we must remember that God does not see class division. Not at all. He sees us all the same. He just wants all of His children to play nicely and get along and help one another (just like how parents want their children to get along).
God ain’t impressed by a high status nor is He turned off by a poverty stricken individual. He is impressed by how you treat others, especially the poor. He is impressed by how much you truly love and serve Him. But we must be genuine when caring for others. We must give from our hearts and not just act like we care on the outside. Because God will not reward pretense.
I want to leave you with this, lovely one (and I’m not sure how much this relates to class division)…being rich by means of materialism and money and fake friends aint gonna save you on Judgement Day, but wisdom and knowing and accepting God will save you from Hell, eternal punishment. (Proverbs 11:4, Ecclesiastes 7:12)
God bless you,
